Pragati Power Corporation Limited(PPCL), has executed a Power purchased Agreement(PPA) with Haryana Power Purchase Centre,

a joint forum established for procuring Power for Haryana.PPCL will supply 10 percent power from the upcoming Pragati III Power

Project to Haryana as per PPA.PPCL also executed a PPA with Punjab State Electricity Board for Suppling 10 percent power to Punjab.

PPCL is setting up a 1500 MW(nominal) gas based combined cycle power plant at Bawana in North West Delhi. The foundation stone

was laid by Honable Prime Minister in March'2008. The project has been granted mega power project status by Govt. of India,which will give

substantial saving in custom duties, etc.The mega power status will reduce the overall project cost.The EPC contract is awarded to BHEL.

The project is scheduled for comissioning before the Common Wealth Games 2010to assure reliable power supply during the games
